Administrative data

Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with section 1 of regulation EC No 1907/2006 (REACH) Annex XI, the flammability does not need to be performed as the substance is non combustible. Chlorosulphuric acid is an inorganic compound with sulphur in its highest oxidation state. It cannot sustain combustion and does not need to be considered as flammable. Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties are not to be expected. The products of rapid hydrolysis are sulphuric acid and hydrogen chloride which are not combustible. So reaction of chlorosulphuric acid with water does not lead to the development of any gas which may be flammable.
