Additional information

In accordance with REACH Regulation 1907/2006, Annex VII, Column 2, testing need not be conducted if the substance is hydrolytically unstable (with a half-life of <12 hours).

The substance rapidly hydrolyses in water to yield the corresponding acid. Water solubility of 1,2-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, 4-methyl- has been investigated in accordance with OECD/EU test methods and determined to be 8.4 g/L at 20 ± 0.5 °C and pH 3.

A water solubility of 510.7 g/L at T= 25°C and pH = 8 (environmental conditions) was estimated for 1,2-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, 4-methyl- (4-MHHPAc), obtained ad hydrolysis product of 5-methylhexahydro-2-benzofuran-1,3-dione (4-MHHPA).

The water solubility as function of pH was estimated taking account of the dissociation of this acid.
