Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Based on the analogue approach justification, the results described below on the water solubility obtained on Vinasses, residue of fermentation, containing biomass of Corynebacterium glutamicum, can be used to conclude about the water solubility of the Vinasse, residue of fermentation, depotassified.
For Vinasses, residue of fermentation, containing biomass of Corynebacterium glutamicum, at a loading rate of 100 g dry mass/L :38.7 g/L at 20 °C (corresponds to a water solubility percentage of 39% of the dry substance). At the maximum loading rate of 1000 g dry mass/L :268 g/L at 20 °C (corresponds to a water solubility percentage of 27% of the dry substance). Not completely soluble in water since in all samples undissolved test substance particles were observed.
As the Vinasse, residue of fermentation, depotassified does not contain biomass, the water solubility percentage is expected to be higher than that for Vinasses, residue of fermentation, containing biomass of Corynebacterium glutamicum. Consequently, the Vinasse, residue of fermentation, depotassified, is expected to be soluble in water.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
A key study on water solubility is available and has been performed with Vinasses, residue of fermentation containing biomass of Corynebacterium glutamicum according to OECD Guideline 105, flask method.
Based on the analogue approach justification and as Vinasses (as a category) and Vinasses, residue of fermentation, depotassified contain very similar dry matter contents and the same types of components with similar ranges, data obtained for Vinasses, residue of fermentation containing biomass of Corynebacterium glutamicum can be used to assess the water solubility of Vinasses, residue of fermentation, depotassified.
