Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted. The test guideline EC-A 14 refers to the UN-Manual ‘Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods – Manual of Tests and Criteria’ and ‘Bretherick’s – Handbook of reactive chemical hazards’. The sample is a preparation (mixture) of propoxylated dietheleneglycols. The material does not contain any functional groups quoted in ‘Manual of Tests and Criteria’ (fourth revised edition, appendix 6, table A 6.1) or Bretherick’s – Handbook (6th Edition, Volume 2, p 128 ff) which may indicate explosive properties. Therefore, it can be concluded by expert judgement that ‘Diethyleneglycol, propoxylated' is not explosive. The determination according to EC Guideline A 14 is not necessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Diethyleneglycol, propoxylated has no potential of explosivity; and hence no classification necessary according to both Directive 67/548/EEC and GHS (Regulation EC 1272/2008).
