Description of key information

Two studies were carried out: UN test N.1 and UN test N.4. The results of both tests indicate that the tested substance is not flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flammability of Benzyltrimethylammonium chloride was determined according to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, sub-section 33.2.1.4, Test Method N.1.

For classification purpose the self-heating properties were determined by method UN N.4. (supporting study)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Two independent tests results indicate that Benzyltrimethylammonium chloride should not be classified as a flammable solid.
