Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For MDIPA-Esterquat C16-18 and C18 unsatd., since no agglomeration equilibrium was reached in 72 hours, the n-octanol solubility is defined as smaller than the limit value, < 632 g/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

For MDIPA-Esterquat C16-18 and C18 unsatd. the n-octanol solubility was determined within the scope of determination of logPow. Concentrations were determined analytically (HPLC-MS with response of the saturated C16 and C18 -di-ester). At the lowest tested concentration, after 72 h stirring and centrifugation, the test solution became turbid again. According to information of the sponsor and the results from Project 503238, the saturated C16 and C18 di-ester component of the test substance is stable in n-octanol.

The concentration decrease is possibly caused by a delayed agglomeration of the test substance. Since no agglomeration equilibrium was reached in 72 hours, the n-octanol solubility is defined as smaller than the limit value, < 632 g/L. The reason for this behaviour is not understood and, therefore, the stated n-octanol solubility is uncertain.
