Description of key information

A rodent carcinogenicity study for Vinyl Neodeconoate is not needed as established by the criteria set out in REACH Annex X, Column 2.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Vinyl Neodeconoate dose not meet the criteria for Classification and Labeling as a Carcinogen as established by EU Directive 67/548/EEC and the CLP.

Additional information

Vinyl Neodeconoate is not genotoxic in four in vitro assays and in one in vivo rat study for DNA and chromosome damage. Therefore, the criteria for a Category 3 mutagen are not met. Vinyl Neodeconoate is manufactured under closed conditions with little or no environmental release or worker or consumer exposure. In repeated-dose rodent studies Vinyl Neodeconoate did not induce human health relevant histopathology.
