Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Too few particles were of a size less than 10.0 µm to allow accurate assessment of the mass median aerodynamic diameter.

Additional information

Particle size data acquired for the test item is shown below

Proportion of test item having an inhalable particle size <100 µm: 11.1%

Proportion of test item having a thoracic particle size <10.0 µm: 0.122%

Proportion of test item having a respirable particle size <5.5 µm: 8.70 x 10-3%

The inhalable fraction is defined as the mass fraction of particles which can be inhaled by nose or mouth, the thoracic fraction is defined as the mass fraction of particles that passes the larynx and the respirable fraction is defined as the mass fraction of particles that reaches the alveoli.

Comments of form of subtance supplied:

The substance is a solid and therefore the particle size distribution was assessed.

However, the substance is formulated in to various liquid products that are marketed in the EU for industrial application and will therefore not be supplied in solid form.
