Description of key information

For soil macroorganisms except arthropods, 8 individual high quality EC10 values, covering 2 annelid different species, are selected for the effects assessment of V in soil. Toxicity data derived in freshly spiked soils (4 observations) range from 2.0 to 54 mg added V/kg dw (both results for reproduction of Enchytraeus crypticus). Vanadium toxicity to soil invertebrates was generally lower in soils where V had been equilibrated for more than 5 months with EC10 values (4 observations) ranging from 22 mg V/kg soil (for reproduction of Eisenia fetida) to 81 mg V/kg soil (for reproduction of Enchytraeus crypticus). All data are based on measured added V concentrations in soil.
