Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed (irritating)

Eye irritation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not irritating)

Additional information

An Acute Dermal Irritation/Corrosion study was conducted with undiluted Vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate in six rabbits. The exposure conditions were 6 -hr under occlusion.Based on results from this test, vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate can be classified as a Category 3 mild irritant to rabbit skin under conditions of the test. The results from this study are appropriate and reliable for predicting the skin irritation potential of Vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate

An Acute Eye Irritation/Corrosion study was conducted with undiluted Vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate in six rabbits. 0.1 mL was placed in one eye of each rabbit.Based on results from this test, vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate can be classified as not irritating. The results from this study are appropriate and reliable for predicting the eye irritation potential of Vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification and labeling required for dermal irritation hazard based on available data and EU regulatory established limits (EU Directive 67/548/EEC and the CLP, Directive EC 1272/2008 16 December 2008).

Vinyl 2 -ethylhexanoate is classified as a skin mild irritant cat. 3, causes mild skin irritation based on available data and EU regulatory established limits (EU Directive 67/548/EEC and the CLP, Directive EC 1272/2008 16 December 2008).
