Additional information

Short-term toxicity studies on fish, invertebrates and algae, are available with the registered substance (Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol). Short term L(E)C50 values have been determined as >101 mg/L for fish (Oryzias latipes), >92 mg/L for invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and >99 mg/L for algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata). A NOEC value of >99 mg/L was also derived in the algal study.

A long term toxicity study (21 days) is available for invertebrates. The long-term invertebrate NOEC value has been determined as >=95 mg/L (Daphnia magna).

A long-term toxicity to fish study has been waived on the basis that Risk Characterisation Ratios (RCRs) are less than 1.
