Description of key information

An environmental risk assessment has indicated that the members of the Aromatic Sulphonic Acids category do not pose a risk to the aquatic environment for all relevant uses. In Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 it is laid down that chronic toxicity tests shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further. Since the chronic testing would not change the outcome of the environmental risk assessment no additional chronic testing on aquatic invertebrates appears to be justified.
