Description of key information

Based on the test resultsand physico-chemical data, the substance could be considered as not highly adsorptive, that indicates that soil and sediment are not expected to be the main target compartments for exposure assessment.

When release in water compartment, the substance is not expected to be degraded. Indeed, tert-butyl cumyl peroxide was demonstrated to be hydrolytically stable at environmental conditions and not readily biodegradable. Data available on aquatic organisms indicate that the substance is toxic to aquatic invertebrates and fish but has no effect on algae at the highest tested concentration (i.e. 100 mg/L nominal concentration).
