Additional information

The acute toxicity of 1,4 -Butynediol (B3D) to freshwater fish has been tested according to various guideline and non-guideline methods under non-GLP conditions. Tests results with Klimisch scores of at least 2 yielded 96 hr LC50 values of 53.6 mg/L (Veith, et. al., 1989) to 76.1 mg/L (Tisler, et. al., 2003), and a 96 hr NOEC of 21.5 mg/L and LC100 of 100 mg/L (BASF AG, 1988). These data indicate that 1,4 -Butynediol is moderately toxic to freshwater fish.
