Additional information

After emission or evaporation to air the product is expected to be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes. In water, N-methylol methacrylamide is readily biodegradable. In contrast, abiotic degradation by hydrolysis is not expected to play a major role – the substance is stable at pH 4 and 7 and hydrolyses slowly at pH 9.

Available data indicate, that N-methylol methacrylamide is

not persistent in the environment.
