Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No long-term toxicity to fish studies are available for the test substance (‘benzene, ethylenated, by-products from’).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The supported uses for this substance (‘benzene, ethylenated, by-products from’) are limited to industrial closed systems and as such are not expected to lead to direct or indirect exposure to the environment. Therefore long-term fish toxicity testing for the substance is not required. However, under unlikely circumstances of accidental release (e.g., unplanned event of loss of containment), soil compartment would be the most likely receiving environmental media. Therefore, Fish, Early-Life Stage (FELS) toxicity test (test method: OECD 210) is justified to be waived. Regarding PBT assessment, based on acute toxicity to fish, daphnia, and long-term toxicity to algae, the substance meets the criterion for T. Additional study on long-term toxicity to fish is not necessary because this test is not going to provide additional useful information regarding its T classification.
