Description of key information

According to the WHO report Concise International Chemical Assessment Document 72
IODINE AND INORGANIC IODIDES:
HUMAN HEALTH ASPECTS
The vapor pressure is 0.1 kPa at 731 °C, without detailed referencing, but used to have a valid value for CSR calculated.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.1 kPa
at the temperature of:
731 °C

Additional information

According to column 2 of REACH Annex VII, vapour pressure is not required for substance with melting point over 300 degree C. Taking consideration of the ionic structure of KI and its high melting point (681 degree C) as well as high boiling point (1323 degree C), its vapor pressure can be expected to be very low and shall not be a concern for CSA purpose.
