After exposure to soil, significant adsorption to solid soil phase (e.g. clay) is not expected. Evaporation from water surface or moist soil surface is an important fate path of methyl vinyl ether due to the high Henrys Law Constant. This finding is supported by a distribution model calculation for the substance between the environmental compartments using the Mackay LEVEL 1 v3.00 program (BASF 2016). The standard environmental properties for the calculation are drawn from a publication of Mackay (2001). Due to the results of the model calculation, over time the substance will preferentially distribute into the compartment air (99.2%).
