Description of key information

The substance is rapidly hydrolysed to isophthalic acid and HCl in the environment. The anionic species of isophthalic acid will predominate under environmentally relevant conditions and will therefore exist primarily in the water compartment. If released in soil, mobility of isophthalic acid will be attenuated by rapid biodegradation in soil.
