Amines, N-Tallow Alkyltrimethylenedi-, Propoxylated biodegradation potential has been assessed in the frame of an OECD 301 test carried out according to GLP procedures. The curve of biodegradation of the OECD 301 D (GRL, 2009) showed that biodegradation has started but that the plateau has not been reached by day 28. At the end of the test, 21% of degradation was reached.

Another ready biodegradation test was performed according to OECD guideline 310 "CO2 in sealed vessels (headspace test)" and GLP requirements during an extended period (up to day 60). Under the test conditions, a maximum mean biodegradation of 5.3% of Amines, N-tallow alkyltrimethylenedi-, propoxylated of the theoretical inorganic carbon was observed at day 35.

However, no further simulation testings are proposed for sediment or soil since the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I has not indicated a need to investigate further the degradation of the test substance (in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX).
