Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two reliable short-term tests are available. The studies were performed with a freshwater and a marine species under flow-through conditions. The reported 96-hour LC50 values are in the range of 38 and 60 mg ATBC/L, based on nominal test substance concentrations. The data indicate that there is a comparable sensitivity of freshwater and marine fish.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
38 mg/L

Marine water fish

Marine water fish
Effect concentration:
59 mg/L

Additional information

Two reliable short-term tests are available. The studies were performed with freshwater and marine species under flow-through conditions. The lowest LC50 value was determined

The reported 96-hour LC50 values are in the range of 38 and 60 mg ATBC/L, based on nominal test substance concentrations. The test concentrations were chemically analysed. However, the recovery of the test substance was unsatisfactory and nominal concentrations were used for the evaluation. The data indicate that there is a comparable sensitivity of freshwater and marine fish.

The information was taken from summary reports published by the U.S. EPA High Production Volume (HPV) Chemicals Challenge Program 2003.

The lower value of the LC50 range obtained in the fish studies was considered most relevant for the aquatic hazard assessment:

96 h LC50 Lepomis machrochirus 38 mg/L.
