First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove affected person to fresh air and keep patient at
rest. Seek medical attention immediately.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with water while holding eyelids open for at
least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention immediately.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Flush area with large amounts
of water. Use soap.

Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Wash
out mouth with water.

Do not induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, extinguishing powder, foam or water.

Product arising from burning: The substance is not highly flammable but may emit toxic
fumes of oxides of carbon and nitrogen when burning.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.


Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.


Personnel must wear appropriate protective equipment in
order to minimize exposure.


Eliminate all sources of ignition and ventilate the area
using explosion-proof equipment.


Contain the source of the spill if it is safe to do so.
Collect spill with absorbent material.


Clean spill area thoroughly.


Place waste in an appropriately labelled, sealed container
for disposal. Care should be taken to avoid environmental
release.


Non-essential personnel should be evacuated from the
affected area. Report emergency situations immediately.
Clean up operations should only be undertaken by trained
personnel.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under
conditions of good industrial hygiene.


Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance e.g. Local exhaust ventilation must be used
during processing.


When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;

Chemical reaction with water: Fine particles (such as dust and mists) may fuel fires and
explosions.

Dust explosion: Under normal conditions of use this material does not
present a significant explosion hazard. However, like most
organic compounds it is combustible and may form a dust
explosion if widely dispersed in air.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from
minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically
or technically feasible, and such waste material will be
disposed of by incineration. In principle, it may be
possible to recover larger spillages of uncontaminated
material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The dust hazard will be minimised by localised extraction.


The notification tests have shown that the substance

is provisionally classfied as harmful to aquatic organisms.



No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
hazardous environmental properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Waste streams containing the notified chemical will be sent
away for analysis and incineration. Solvents will be
recovered where possible and other contaminated waste
including packaging will be incinerated. Spillages of
solutions mixed with inert material (eg. sand or soil) can
be disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and
nitrogen oxides)could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly
to the sewage system or the aqueous environment.
