Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water for at least 15 minutes and

obtain immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water. If skin reaction occurs

seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur, together with metal oxide smoke and

some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from the immediate vicinity.

Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.10).

For solid material, sweep up and place in suitable

containers for disposal.

For solutions, absorb spillages with a suitable inert

material (eg sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage

to waste containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum

machine. Transfer to suitable labelled containers and

dispose of at a landfill site or by incineration in

accordance with local regulations. Wash spill site with

water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Protective clothing (EN368),

gloves (EN374) and safety goggles (EN166) should be worn.

If adequate ventilation and dust control is not possible,

suitable respiratory equipment should be worn such as a dust

mask (EN149 FFP1).

Storage: Store in containers in a cool dry place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance itself is not supplied.

The preparation is transported in 1 tonne Sotralanz or

Schutz tanks or bulk road tanker.

Remarks:
Transport: No special precautions for the substance itself.

The marketed preparation should be transported as
appropriate for a free flowing aqueous solution of low
volatility, eg. Sotralanz or Schutz tanks or bulk road
tankers.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals. Impermeable gloves. Safetey glasses with side protection shield.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: No hazard anticipated as the substance will only be

manufactured and used as an aqueous preparation.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance, mixed with inert material (eg sand or soil),

can be disposed of at a landfill site. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a

suitable facility. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of

nitrogen and sulfur and metal oxide smoke should be fitted.

(A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to

the sewage system or the aqueous environment.

However, adverse effects on waste water treatment plants are

not anticipated.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible, the substance is bound

into paper.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will only enter the public domain as part of a

coating on paper which can be disposed of as domestic waste.
