Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
open.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush opened eyes with plenty of water. Get
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately wash off with plenty of water and soap. Remove
contaminated clothing.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Induce drinking of water. Get medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
carbon dioxide, powder, water.
Product arising from burning: Formation of toxic combustion gases or vapours like carbon
monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides is possible in
the event of fire.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Suitable chemical protective clothing and self-contained
breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
higher amount of spilt liquid warn also persons in the
vicinity.
2. Ensure appropriate ventilation in an explosion-proof
manner.
3. Remove or switch off all potential sources of ignition.
4. Damaged containers must be put into a safety container
or the leakage must be reduced by sand or other
appropriate materials.
5. Prevent liquid from entering sewage system or surface/
ground water.
6. Absorb small amounts of spilt liquid with suitable ab-
sorption material and collect it in a tightly closed
container which must be labelled according to TRGS 201.
7. Higher amounts of spilt liquid should be collected by an
explosion-proof pump into a tightly closed and labelled
container.
8. Dispose of contaminated absorbents as EWC 150202* - ab-
sorbents, filter materials (including oil filters not
otherwise specified), wiping cloths, protective clothing
contaminated by dangerous substances.
9. Dispose not spilt T2954 as EWC 070508* - other still
bottoms and reaction residues.
10. While taking up the spilt material and cleaning the pol-
luted area avoid skin and eye contact as well as inhala-
tion of the substance by wearing appropriate personal
protective equipment (see section 'Handling').
Handling and storage
All work processes must always be designed so that exposure
to the substance by inhalation and skin or mucosa contact is
as low as possible.
The substance should only be handled in closed systems.
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: required when vapours are generated
(Filter A (EN 149), cartridge color code black (NIOSH))
Hand protection: tested protective gloves (KCL, Butoject)
Eye protection: safety goggles
Skin protection: required.
2. Industrial hygiene
Adequate washing facilities and conspicuously labelled eye-
douche stations should be provided in the immediate vicini-
ty of the working area.
Immediately remove contaminated clothing.
Apply skin-protection barrier cream.
Wash hands and face after working.
Under no circumstances eat or drink at workplace.
3. Information related to protection against fire and explo-
sion
Highly flammable vapours may form. Keep away from potential
ignition sources. Protect against the effect of heat. Static
discharges must be avoided, e. g. through the earthing of
containers, apparatus, pumps and extraction devices.
Storage: Store the substance in the original packing drums or other
secure containers which are labelled according to the regu-
lations. Keep them tightly closed and secure them against
falling by taking the appropriate measures.
Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.
Store in a cool (8 °C because of product quality) and well-
ventilated area.
Remove all potential sources of ignition.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: IBC (capacity: max. 1000 l), Drum (capacity: max. 200l). The
used vessels are proofed in accordance to the regulation of
the transportation of dangerous goods.
