Additional information

No carcinogenicity studies are available for AAS. However, the substance did not show mutagenic effects in several mutagenicity tests and was shown to be of low toxicity in repeated dose toxicity studies. Therefore, a carcinogenic potential of AAS can be considered unlikely.

Justification for selection of carcinogenicity via oral route endpoint:
No carcinogenicity study is required since the substance is not a mutagen and no hyperplasia or pre-neoplastic lesions were observed in the available repeated dose toxicity study.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification with regard to carcinogenicity is required.
