Additional information

In the skin irritation test, 4 out of 5 rabbits showed slight erythema at the end of the 4 -h treatment period. Slight erythema was still observed in 2 out of these 4 animals 48 h after treatment. No corrosivity was seen. No further observations were made. In the eye irritation test, some conjunctival reddening was seen in all animals and slight corneal opacity in one animal. The eye changes were fully reversible within 7 days.

The supporting study showed no skin and eye irritation following application of the undiluted NTAN.

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating

Effects on eye irritation: slightly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to the minimal degree of skin and eye irritation observed, this substance does not meet the criteria for classification as a skin and eye irritant.
