Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Surface tension:
33 mN/m
Temp.:
25 °C
Conc.:

Remarks on result:
other: The critical micelle concentration (CMC) was found to be 0.14 g/L at pH 7.0 and 25°C.
Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the surface tension of the1 g/L solution of the test substance at 25°C was found to be 33 mN/m and the critical micelle concentration was found to be 0.14 g/L at pH 7.0.
Executive summary:

The surface tension of the test substance, TMAC T (purity not specified) was determined using ring method according to DIN 53914 and ISO 340:1985. Critical micelle concentration was determined using an automated tensiometer (KSV Tensiometer Sigma 70) connected with a computer. The water used was distilled and deionised using a MilliQ® plus purifier from Millipore. The tensiometer was calibrated with distilled water (surface tension value (mAV) at 25°C = > 72 mN/m). Under the study conditions, the surface tension of the1 g/L solution of the test substance at 25°C was found to be 33 mN/m and the critical micelle concentration was found to be 0.14 g/L at pH 7.0 (Borjesson, 2012).

Description of key information
