The vapour pressure of 1,3 -diethylthiourea was evaluated in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 104 and GLP requirements.

The method used is the Knudsen cell effusion method coupled to a microbalance. As the logarithm of the vapour pressure of a pure substance is a linear function of the inverse of the temperature, the vapour pressure is determinate in a limited temperature range (30 -50°C). Three vapour pressure are determinate : at 30°C , P = 2.8953e-34Pa, at 40°C P=1.273e-2 Pa and at 50°C P= 4.5592e-2 Pa.

The vapour pressure of 1,3 -diethyl-2 -thiourea extrapolated at 20°C is 6.4815e-4 Pa.

The hydrosolubility of ETU was found equal to 42 g/l at 20°C (i.e. 3.18e-4 mol/m3)

As a consequence the Henry's law value equals 2.04 Pa.m3.mol-1.
