Three ready biodegradability tests have been performed according to OECD Guideline 301 on MEXORYL SAB. In all studies, biodegradation of MEXORYL SAB was observed. Among 2/3 studies (OECD TG 301D, 301F), MEXORYL SAB was found to be readily biodegradable without fulfilling the 10 -day.

In an inherent biodegradation test (Zahn and Wellens) in accordance with OECD TG 302B, MEXORYL SAB was biodegraded at 90% on Day 28. The reference substance (procedure control) attained 100% of biodegradation on Day 10. The test is considered as valid. Under the condition of the inherent biodegradation testing, MEXORYL SAB is considered as inherently biodegradable.
