Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Acute Toxicity

4 standard studies are available for the test substance for fish, daphnia and algae acute toxicity. Supporting studies with the same substance are also used to support the results.

Fish:

The acute toxicity of the test item to fish (zebrafish), was determined according to OECD-Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 203 (1992) and EU Council Regulation No 440/2008/ C.1 (2008). A semi-static test with daily renewal of the test media was conducted. Water quality parameters temperature, pH-value and O2-saturation measured at 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours were within the acceptable Iimits. The LC50 was after 48 h 2.10 mg/L, after 72 h 1.45 mg/L and after 96 h 1.05 mg/L

Daphnia

ln an acute immobilization test with Daphnia magna (STRAUS), the effects of the test item were determined according to OECD 202 (2004) and Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Method C.2 (2008). The study was conducted under semi-static conditions over a period of 48 h with 5 concentration Ievels of the test item. The EC50 after 48 h was 3.52 mg/L, the EC50 after 24 was >4.19. The EC10 after 48 h was 2.68 and after 24 h >4.19.

Algae

The toxicity of the test material to the unicellular freshwater green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus was determined according to the principles of OECD 201 and Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008/ Method C.3. The aim of the study was to assess the effects on growth rate and yield over a period of 72 hours. The study was conducted under static conditions with an initial cell density of 4910 cells/mL. Based on a preliminary test, 5 concentration Ievels were tested. The EC50 was 0.261 mg/L after 72 h, the EC20 was 0.152 mg/L after 72 h and the EC10 was 0.113 mg/L after 72 hours. The values are based on geometric mean measured test item concentrations of the inhibition of growth rate.

Toxicity to microorganism

The results indicate that the test material after 30-minute incubation caused no inhibition of the bacterial oxygen depletion up to a limit concentration of 10000 mg/L.
