First-aid measures

General information:
In case of disorders consult a doctor.

After inhalation:
Provide fresh air. In case of disorders or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice.

After skin contact:
After contact with skin wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. In case of disorders, consult a physician.

After eye contact:
Immediately rinse eyes thoroughly with running water. Protect uninjured eye, remove contact lenses. In case of disorders, consult a physician.

After swallowing:
Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:
applicable: Water spray or fog, foam, dry chemical powder, CO2, sand.
not applicable: Water with full jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
This material is assumed to be combustible. Formation of toxic gases (carbon oxides) is possible during heating or in case of fire. Avoid dispersion of dust/aerosols.

Advice for fire fighters:
As with all fires, evacuate personnel to a safe area. Fire fighters should use a self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Wear personal protection equipment. Avoid generation of dust/aerosols. Provide adequate ventilation. Do not breathe dust/aerosols.

Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to penetrate into soil, waterbodies or drains.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Pick up mechanically and arrange disposal without creating dust. Place spillage in suitable closed containers for disposal. Wash the contaminated area with plenty of water.

Reference to other sections:
See section 7 (handling and storage), section 8 (personal protection), section 13 (disposal) SDS

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
Preventive measures:
As a general rule, when handling this material, avoid all contact and inhalation of dust/aerosols. Wash hands after handling. Provide adequate ventilation and local exhaust as needed. Use personal protective clothing. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols.

Information about fire- and explosion protection:
No special measures required.

Information for safe handling:
Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Information about storage conditions:
Keep away from combustible materials and sources of heat and ignition. Check all containers are clearly labelled and free from leaks. Materials to avoid: strong oxidizing agents, strong acids

Requirements at store rooms and containers:
Store container tightly closed in a dry area. Store in a cool place. Avoid heat and sunlight.

Storage class: TRGS 510, VCI (Germany) 11 (combustible solids)

Specific end use(s)
Branch and sector- specific guidelines: none known

Further information:
The substance must be handled under strictly controlled conditions as laid out in Article 18 paragraph 4 REACH-regulation. DETAILED information on risk management measures recommended to the user in accordance with Art. 18 paragraph 4 and ECHA REACH Guidance on intermediates (2010), Annex 3 and Practical Guide 16 (2014) is attached to section 13 of the IUCLID dossier.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:
Engineering controls such as exhaust ventilation are recommended.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:
General measures: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. After work wash hands.
Eye/face protection: Wear safety goggles.
Skin/body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.
Hand protection: Protective gloves. Recommended materials: natural latex or rubber gloves.
Respiratory protection: In case of dust: particulates filter (type: depending on exposure)

Environmental exposure controls:
See chapter 6.2. SDS. No additional measures necessary.

Further information:
The substance must be handled under strictly controlled conditions as laid out in Article 18 paragraph 4 REACH-regulation.
