The octanol-water partition coefficient of this substance (log Kow) has been determined to be 2.4 for the cis isomer and 2.8 for the trans isomer. It is expected therefore that the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation.

Testing for this endpoint would require a vertebrate animal study to be conducted, and registrants have a duty to avoid unnecessary vertebrate animal studies on animal welfare grounds. Testing for aquatic bioaccumulation has therefore been waived.

For the chemical safety assessment, a predicted BCF of 48 (calculated by EUSES based on the measured log Kow of 2.8) was used. Using this predicted BCF, the chemical safety assessment does not show a need for further refinement.
