First-aid measures

If inhaled : Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.

In case of skin contact : In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water.

In case of eye contact : Rinse the affected eye with plenty of water, at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.

If swallowed : If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.

General advice : Seek medical assistance if discomfort continues

Fire-fighting measures

Since the substance itself is not flammable, fire fighting measures should be adjusted to the surrounding fire.

Suitable extinguishing media : Alcohol-resistant foam, Dry powder, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Water spray jet

Unsuitable extinguishing media : High volume water jet

As the product contains combustible organic components, fire will produce dense black smoke containing hazardous products of combustion like CO2, CO, SO2, NOx.

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases. Use self-contained breathing apparatus

Further information : Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil. Prevent spread over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers).

Pick up mechanically. Rinse away rest with water. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations.

Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.

Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled

Handling and storage

During its lifecycle the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions and is rigorously contained in accordance Art. 18.

Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.

Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. Provide exhaust ventilation if dust is formed. In principle, with organic products which are -intentionally or unintentionally- in powdered form, the danger of a dust explosion should be kept in mind. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charges - earthing necessary during loading operations. Keep container tightly closed in a well-ventilated place. Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection : If exposure to dust is expected use dust mask.

Hand protection : Glove thickness: 0,5 mm.

Nitril or rubber gloves are suitable.

For long-term exposure: Butyl rubber gloves.

Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).

Eye protection : safety glasses

Skin and body protection : working clothes

Hygiene measures : Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean

thoroughly before using again. Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Clean hands and face during work intervals and after work.

Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Stability and reactivity

No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Disposal considerations

Special waste incineration plant, after consultation with operators. Observe local authority regulations.

Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste. For disposal local regulation is binding.
