Description of key information

Adsorption to solid soil phase is expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Two adsorption studies for the assessment of the adsorption potential of the substances in the category of derivatives of 4,4’-bis(1,3,5-triazinyl-2-yl)amino)stilbene-2,2’-disulfonic acid, each with one anilino and one alkyl amino moiety, are available. All studies demonstrate that the substances belonging to this category possess adsorption potential which indicates that the tested substances bind to soils.

EC 432-690-8:

In a study on adsorption/desorption in soil according to OECD Guideline 106 (Adsorption - Desorption Using a Batch Equilibrium Method) the adsorption coefficient Koc was determined as 5580 (log Koc: 3.75).The results of the adsorption/desorption study indicate that the test material is tightly bound to soil components, if exposure should occur.

EC 476-900-6:

In a study on adsorption/desorption in soil according to OECD Guideline 106 (Adsorption - Desorption Using a Batch Equilibrium Method) the adsorption coefficient Koc was determined as < 18 (log Koc: < 1.25). This value indicates that the test substance will not be strongly adsorbed by organic carbon in soil.
