Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental data investigating the phototransformation of dimethylammonium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate (CAS No. 2008-39-1) in water were available. This substance is highly soluble (water solubility 750 g/L) and it is rapidly dissociated in water, being 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (CAS No. 94-75-7) its main product. Therefore, a conclusion on this endpoint was drawn based on the phototransformation of this substance. The direct and indirect photolysis of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid in water was tested in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline draft, EPA OPPTS 835.2210 and EPA OPPTS 835.5270, under GLP conditions. The dissipation half-lives of the compound were 103.7 and 541 days for direct photolysis (summer and winter values respectively) and 23.1 days for indirect photolysis (summer conditions).
