- Ester of rosin with diethylene glycol, consisting of mainly the mono- and di-esters, as the reactor is charged with a 2:1 stoichiometric ratio of reactants (rosin and diethylene glycol), and reacted at elevated temperatures until the specification is reached, typically determined by "acid value" indicating that most of the carboxyl groups (-COOH) of the parent rosin have been esterified.
