Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Readily biodegradable: 88% (Clse Bottle Test) in 30 days (OECD 301D); 74.6% (CO2) in 28 days (OECD 301B; not GLP); 83% (Manometric Respirometry Test) in 26 days (OECD 301F); 78.9% (Clse Bottle Test) in 30 days (OECD 301D).

readily biodegradable

Additional information

The read across is justified on the basis of structural feature and similar environmental property which is common to the alcohols in this category. The test substance is found to be readily biodegradable on the basis of available data.

The most recent standard reliable study available contains significant and useful results but was not conducted to GLP. This study gave results of 74.6% (CO2) in 28 days (OECD 301B) (readily biodegradable).

A key study could not be selected from any of the available data because the results was read across from structurally similar substance. Due to the lack of GLP for the most recent study, other reliable standard studies; Richterich 2002 and Instituto Guido 1993 was selected on the basis of weight of evidence. The test substance is found to be readily biodegradable on the basis of available data.
