Additional information

A single proprietary study on one stream from this category (68476 -55 -1) was available (Huntingdon Life Sciences, 2004). Daphnia magna were tested following guideline OECD 202. The Daphnia were exposed to the test substance at five concentrations in a closed static test system with no headspace to maintain the exposure concentrations. The 48 hour EL50 was reported as 6.96 mg/l WAF. This data has been read across to all category members.

To support this study, a QSAR was used to calculate the expected toxicity of eleven representative components of the streams in the category. The calculated acute effect concentrations for invertebrates were3.3 -17 .8 mg/l. These values have been used in the PBT assessment of this category.
