Description of key information

The category member D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl glycosides (CAS: 110615-47-9) is biodegradable in a continuously operated test system simulating the activated sludge process according to OECD criteria (> 99.4% after 28 days).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One confirmatory study investigating the biodegradability of the category member D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl glycosides (CAS: 110615-47-9) in a simulation test is available (Stelter, 1994). The test, comparable to OECD Guideline 303A "Simulation Test - Aerobic Sewage Treatment - A: Activated Sludge Units", was conducted utilising domestic non-adapted activated sludge. The test substance degraded to >99.4% after 28 days based on the DOC. Conclusively, the test substance is biodegradable in a continuously operated test system simulating the activated sludge process under conditions tested according to OECD criteria.
