Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No information about the toxicity of sodium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate to aquatic plants is available, and therefore, conclusions on this endpoint are drawn based on data from an analogue substance. The toxicity of dimethylammonium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate (CAS No. 2008-39-1) to a floating aquatic macrophyte, Lemna gibba, was evaluated in a study by Hughes (1990). This test was conducted according to EPA/FIFRA 123-2 Standard method of testing effects on freshwater macrophytes, under GLP conditions. After 14 days exposure within a static water regime, growth inhibition ranged from 14.1% (0.27 mg/L) to 91.4% (7.6 mg/L). The resulting EC50 and NOEC were 0.58 mg test substance/L and 0.27 mg test substance/L (corresponding to 0.38 and 0.18 mg a.i./L)
