Description of key information

Basic Yellow 28 Acetate is only stable in presence of significant concentrations of free acetic acid; it can not be isolated as such.
The test substance is an aqueous solution in 40 % acetic acid. Therefore the acetic acid solution is relevant for the density and not the Basic Yellow 28 Acetate.
The density of acetic acid is 1.0446 at 25 ˚C
The density of Basic Yellow 28 Acetate is between 1.077 - 1.143

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.1

Additional information

The relative density of the methyl sulfate salt at ambient temperature (compared to water at 4 °C) is 1.34.
