Description of key information

Inhibition of growth rate: ErC50 > 4.6 mg/L (based on measured initial concentration)
ErC10 = 0.255 mg/L (based on measured initial concentration)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
4.6 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.255 mg/L

Additional information

Allyl hexanoate was found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green alga "Desmodesmus subspicatus" over 72 hours. The ErC10 after 72 hours was 0.255 mg/L in the study. 50% growth inhibition was not observed at the highest tested concentrations (ErC50 > 4.6 mg/L (initial measured concentrations)).
