Additional information

The hydrolysis of the substance allyl hexanoate as a function of pH and temperature was studied in accordance with OECD TG 111 under GLP. Tier 2 tests the experiments showed that the hydrolysis reaction followed pseudo first order kinetics. The estimated half-life of hydrolysis at 25 °C was 302 hours at pH 4, 695 hours at pH 7 and 128 hours at pH 9. The results of the study show that abiotic hydrolysis of allyl hexanoate may contribute to the degradation of the substance in the environment, but that the importance of this abiotic degradation is depending on the environmental conditions. Other information on the abiotic degradation of the substance in the environment is not available.
