Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

boiling point

study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling

Description of key information

Boiling point [ATMP-xNH4]: ATMP-xNH4 will undergo thermal decomposition without boiling.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement to conduct a boiling point study for ATMP-xNH4 was waived because the substance was expected to undergo decomposition without boiling. This statement is supported by the evidence from a DSC study which demonstrate that the anhydrous parent acid, ATMP-H melts from about 178°C with decomposition. See melting point studies reported in Section 4.2. Salts would be expected to undergo the same thermal decomposition as the parent acid.
