Description of key information

pKa of triethanolamine: 7.76 at 25 °C
pKa of magnesium ion: 11.4 at 25 °C
pKa of alkyl sulfate: 0.91 at 20 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Due to the dissociation constants of the corresponding alkyl sulfate (pKa < 2), triethanolamine (pKa = 7.76) and magnesium (II) ion (pKa = 11.4), it can be assumed that the substance is existent as a salt and thus completely dissociated in the range of pH 5 - 9.
