Additional information

Based on the available data on the species daphnia, algae and fish, the LC/EC50 value are in the range from 1 -100 mg/l with the lowest value of 40 mg/l. Based on this value, a PNEC for aquatic organisms was derived.

Conclusion on classification

Based on the lowest EC50 value among the species daphnia, algae and fish (40 mg/L for algae) in combination with the fact that the substance 5-methylheptan-3-one (CASNr: 541 -85 -5) is readily biodegradable, a classification according to the CLP regulation 1272/2008/EC or the dangerous substance directive 67/548/EC is not necessary (threshold value for classification = 1 mg/L).
