Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
It can be concluded that the EC50/48 hours of ZK4829 to Daphnia magna is higher than
saturated solution (54.89 mg/L).
Executive summary:

20 juvenile Daphnia magna were used for the saturated test solution of Hydroxypropinol and 20 for the dilution water control. The Daphnia were exposed for aperiod of 48 hours under static conditions. Immobilization was recorded at 24 hours and 48 hours.

The organic carbon concentration of the test solution was analyzed with a TOC analyzer at the

start of exposure and 48 hours thereafter. The test item concentration was calculated on the

basis of the molecular formula. The mean concentration was calculated with 54.89 mg/L.

The test temperature was in the range of 20 to 21 0 C, the pH ranged between 7.02 and 7.68,

and the oxygen concentration between 7.14 and 8.93 mg/L. The light/dark rhythm was adjusted

to 16 hours/8 hours.

The EC50/48 hours of Hydroxypropinol to Daphnia magna is expected to be high er than a saturated

solution (54.89 mg/L, as determined by DOC analysis).
