In a GLP guideline study following OECD 201 green algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) were exposed for 72 hours to
Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., Me esters, epoxidized [BASF SE, 2013]. Based on the low water solubility of the test item a water soluble fraction (WSF) was prepared and the test was conducted as limit test with a nominal loading concentration of 100 mg/L. No algal growth inhibition was observed in the treatment compared to the control. Thus, the 72-h NOEC for growth rate inhibition is determined to be >= 100 mg/L based on nominal loading concentration.
