Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

This study was waived. See the section "discussion" below for jusitification.

Additional information

Testing for stability of Isopentyl p-methoxycinnamate in organic solvents and identity of relevant degradation products was not needed to be conducted as the structure of this substance does not include reactive groups that might be associated with instability. Accordingly, based on structural considerations the study for stability in organic solvents has been waived.

In addition and in accordance with the endpoint specific guidance (R. 7A), there are rare occasions when it is important to have information on the stability of a compound. For example, testing might be needed, if a given test item of low solubility is tested in ecotoxicity studies upon dissolution in an organic solvent. However, in the studies considered in the present registration dossier, solubility of this substance in water was increased by physical means.
