Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Based on QSAR estimates and a proprietary study for representative components of these streams, members of this category are considered to be readily biodegradable. Due to this, data is not required on the biodegradation of the streams in water, sediment or soil.

Structural analysis of the streams indicates that they are not expected to undergo hydrolysis due to the lack of hydrolysable functional groups. Experimental data is not available for any category members on bioaccumulation potential or Koc. In the absence of measured data the BCF and Koc of these streams has been calculated based on the measured log Kow.

CAS 97280 -83 -6 which is considered representative of the category, is considered to be readily biodegradable and so will not persist in the environment. However it is expected to have a high potential for bioaccumulation, estimated from the calculated BCF of 30199.5 and log Kow of 7.8. From the estimated Log Koc of 6.42 it is expected to have strong adsorption to suspended solids and sediment in water. Structural analysis of the dodecene indicates that it is not expected to undergo hydrolysis in the environment due to the lack of hydrolyzable functional groups.
